JOURNALISM, PR AND RELATED SUBJECTS

Hard-edged training for today’s media

Here are typical programmes for three of our most popular courses. They are merely the tip of the subjects we can offer. And they are only samples: each course is tailor-made for your particular training needs.

Internal Communications
News and Feature Writing
Editing and Proof Reading
Advanced News Writing

(Sample programme)

Internal Communications

Our tailored training courses in internal communications typically consist of some or all of the topics below, which in our experience represent the main issues. We are happy to add other internal comms topics as required.

The courses are one or two days in length. One day is often enough, but clearly a two-day course allows for more ground to be covered and for a larger number of practical exercises to be undertaken.

Our training manager will be pleased to carry out a needs analysis, including topics and duration, free and without obligation.

Topics:
+ Aims of internal comms
+ Formulating an internal comms strategy
+ Getting the best from the intranet
+ The place of magazines and newsletters
+ Using emails and blogs
+ The information cascade
+ News or publicity – finding the balance
+ Pitching the message right
+ Handling specialist contributors
+ Guidelines for checking copy
+ The management approvals process
+ Building user input
+ Internal-external: working with the press office
+ Punchy writing workshop
+ Proof corrections workshop
